STEP 1:
Pick a consistent spot for placing the pee pad that is easily accessible and separate from your dog's eating and resting areas.
STEP 2:
Place the pee pad in the chosen spot. Introduce your dog to the new potty area by allowing them to sniff and explore it. Guide your dog onto the pad at regular intervals during the day to help them become familiar with the spot.
STEP 3:
When your dog uses the pee pad correctly, promptly reward them with treats or praise to reinforce the behaviour.
STEP 4:
If your dog accidentally eliminates outside the designated area, guide them to the pad and offer positive reinforcement. Never punish your dog for accidents.
STEP 5:
As your dog becomes more accustomed to the pee pad, gradually move the pee pad closer to the door and eventually outside to transition to outdoor potty training.
